ST JOHN'S UNITED CHURCH

Our Sunday School

We have a wonderful Sunday School!

The sign says it all!

St. John's has a very active and vibrant Sunday school. Children aged three and up learn in new and exciting ways their Christian Faith.

We use The Workshop Rotational Model of Sunday school. Here it is in a nutshell: major Bible stories and concepts are taught through kid-friendly multimedia workshops: Arts and Crafts, Video, Games, Pencil and Paper, Storytelling, Food, Gardening and ourWe work on great projects! new Computer Learning Centre. The same Bible story is taught in all of the workshops for four weeks rotating the kids to a different workshop each week. The same teacher is in each workshop for all four weeks teaching the same lesson week after week to the different groups of children coming in. The children come to know the stories very well from learning and living it through multiple learning environments.

We have biblical software in our computer centre!

New teachers are always appreciated! If you are interested in helping out regularly or occasionally, please come forward and let us know! You will always be welcome.

Little ones under 3 years are welcomed in the Nursery each Sunday morning. Follow the signs out through the Sanctuary and down the stairs where you'll find volunteers waiting to play. You can use the Nursery for all or part of the worship service, which can be heard over the speaker. For your convenience there is also a rocking chair and toys at the back of the church and activity packsOur nursery is full of great toys and happy children. for the younger children.

The Children's Bulletin is available with colourful pictures and large print!

We have two Youth Groups: the Junior Youth Group is open to children in grades 4 to 6. The Senior Youth Group is for children in grades 7 to 12 and meets regularly on Sundays.
